Anchovy
Anchovy is one of the most important fish in the food chain of our sea. It is greenish blue from below, its belly is lighter, and it is similar in colour and appearance to sardines.
Sardine
In Croatia, it is also known as “sardina”, “srđela”, “šardela”, and in some places as “štijavica” or “acorn”. The sardine is an elongated fish with flattened sides, the upper part of the body blue-green and the lower part silver.
Blue mackerel
It has a spindle-shaped body, narrow at the top of the head, which widens towards the middle of the body and narrows again towards the tip of the tail.
Chub mackerel
The blue mackerel has a spindle-shaped body, narrow at the top of the head that widens toward the middle of the body and narrows again toward the tail fin.
Bogue
In addition to the original name, over twenty other names of this fish are known in Croatia, “bugva”, “boba”, “buba”, “bukvina”… and it is one of the most numerous fish in the Adriatic and Mediterranean Sea.

The company starts to work in the year 2003 as a fishing trade under the name “Tunarica”, which was engaged in small-scale coastal fishing. With the desire to progress, in 2005 it bought a 22-meter-long fishing boat named “Tiha”, and started fishing pelagic fish, which became its primary activity. With the accession of the Republic of Croatia to the EU in 2013, it founded the company “Tiha Ribolov d.o.o.”.
